Opening Address

February 18, 2019, talks of recalling then Speaker qwabourharbour had begun. After long periods of debating and voting, a majority was reached to recall the Speaker on February 24, 2019 shortly thereafter elections for the Speaker had begun to fill a replacement. Luckily we were able to elect a new Speaker and continue to survive.

That elected Speaker would be me, former Deputy Speaker @dinoium. I was appointed shortly before recall talks had begun. I was meant to fill in the vacancy of the former Deputy pallerdy. I was elected unanimously based off of my platform and o help this region. Now I announce my plans for the term.

Firstly, I will give Speaker's Office some good use and decorate it with some threads and whatnot. This thread will hopefully continue to serve and even outlive my term as Speaker as a way to announce plans, opening and closing term statements, appointments and dismissals, and much more. I will also be introducing an weekly event sort of like a Town Hall meeting in a thread here. Mainly based off of the real life United Kingdom's PM question time, every Friday or a specific day of the week, I will try to answer questions. The reason why I thought of this idea was to promote transparency and be able to communicate with my fellow Citizens. Let's say I dismiss my Deputy in this thread and whatnot, I could be challenged with questions concerning this. I don't want anything about my leadership go unanswered.

Secondly, as I promised, I will introduce amendments for the Regional Congress procedures to help us function correctly. I will mainly try to install procedures for a Vacancy and Deputy plan. I will of course wait for the Court's guidance on this Request for Review before proposing those amendments.

Thirdly, I'm introducing a new system called "Congressional Offices". I made them based off of something I saw in TSP and real life. I introduce them as an optional thing Citizens could use as a way for announcing bills, co-sponsorships to bills, support for bills, how they're voting, and other Citizen announcements. As I said, this is optional but I would encourage making your Office threads there.

Fourthly, I will executed my platform plans to encourage Regional Congress activity. The two plans can be viewed here. I will try to keep it short as possible. I invite Wymond, Cormac, my planned Deputies, myself, and others to help pitch in for a plan to make guides of how to make a bill, how the RC works, and much more (I plan on addressing this more). I will contact our Citizens of elections voting, election nominations, and bill voting. I also plan on executing more of these plans. Some of which I have addressed in my campaign and some I will create within my term.

Finally, I will be updating the Deputy Speaker application template and others relating to that and plan on starting Speaker Staff applications.

If I failed to mention something in my campaign in this post, I will also be planning on executing them and others. Anyways, I wish us all a good term and cheers!

Interim Deputy Appointment and Announcements

I would like to announce a few things.

Firstly, when I get the chance, I will reform the Deputy Applications and open Speaker Staff applications. Though, I thought this was very long overdued.
Congratulations Matthew on becoming my Interim Deputy Speaker. If you don't wish to serve in this position, that is fine. I most likely only appointed you for an Interim period of time unless you wish to staff on my staff. I think Matthew will do an excellent job. He's one of our most senior and longest-serving citizens. He was seen as an Interim Speaker/Election Administrator of the January Presidential Elections. I know you'll do a fine job as Deputy. Once again congratulations!

Secondly, I am proud to announce that we have archived around 9 threads already this term. That's a lot for a term that only started not even a week ago. I tend on doing some more archiving along the way.

Thirdly and most important, I want to talk about the Constitutional Repeal. This is a very Importent move were making. While it hasn't passed yet, it most likely will. In case that happens, I want to thank everyone who has participated in our region's affairs. Whether being a Citizen, Resident, or Government Employee. I salute you. I also want to thank everyone who helped me become our second and most likely final Speaker of this current Constitution. If this were to pass, I would like to ask Cormac to appoint me to the Interim Government as Speaker of the Regional Congress or as a title of "Legislative Overseer". Even if this doesn't pass, I thank everyone for the reasons stated above.

I will continue to try to executive my goals as Speaker. Whether under this Constitution or another. I only want to do what's best for the Republic and so does everyone else.
